From Concept to Creation
The Step-by-Step Journey of Customizing Jewellery
Creating your customized piece of jewellery, entails a six step process, from conceptualizing the design to receiving the product. It typically takes approximately 3-4 weeks, but the timeframe may vary depending on the complexity of the design..
It is important to note that the specific steps and processes may vary depending on the jeweler and the complexity of the design
Step 1: Initial Consultation
The first step entails discussing your ideas, preferences and budget. While I may provide suggestions and recommendations based on my expertise, the final decision is entirely up to you. This can be done face to face or via zoom.
Step 2: 3D Design
Once we have discussed your preferences and have an idea in mind, we will create a 3D rendering of the proposed jewellery. This allows you to visualise the design and make any necessary adjustments.
Step 3: Wax Mold
After the design has been visualised, a Wax Mold is 3D printed to begin creating the customised jewellery. While the mold can help visualise the size of the diamonds and gemstones needed, it is also helpful in verifying the fit and feel of the piece.
Step 4: Finding the stones
When the design has been finalised, I will go on to look for the right stones. Specifically, finding stones that match in size, color and clarity, resulting in a harmonious look is very important and can be time consuming.
Step 5: Setting and Polishing
After the right stones have been found, a goldsmith will set the stones and thereafter polish the piece.
Within this step personalized engravings can also be added
Step 6: Inspection & Delivery
I take great pride in creating high quality pieces and will always inspect the finished piece to ensure it meets our high quality standards and matches the design specifications.
